Services Impacted

Pre-registered transactional traffic towards all China networks

Summary

Vonage’s downstream local supplier started rejecting all pre-registered transactional traffic across all China networks from 13:00 UTC 22 June. Normal service was restored at 23:41 UTC 22 June.

Root Cause

The IP network on the landing side of our supplier was overloaded, and their SMS platform was disconnected.

‌

Restoration Actions

Our supplier changed to a new IP to restore service to their SMS platform.

‌

Next Steps

  • To reduce time to detect, we will improve our alerting when a network supplier isn't delivering messages within expected time range.
